QUAD CITIES, Iowa/Ill. (KWQC) -- YOUR FIRST ALERT FORECAST FROM CHIEF METEOROLOGIST ERIK MAITLAND:

A slim risk for strong to severe storms exists as we head into Wednesday night. During the evening we should stay mainly dry but overnight showers with embedded t-storms will move in from the west. Some of those storms could produce strong gusts at or above 40 mph and small hail, as well. After that we transition to slightly cooler weather with a few rain showers possible Thursday as highs only reach the low 60s. Friday and Saturday look dry with highs near 70. Mother’s Day Sunday we’ll see highs rise to the mid 70s with a slight chance for late day rain. Shower and storm chances stick around early next week with highs mainly in the 70s.
