(KOAM) - The Kansas Secretary of State has announced that in accordance with K.S.A. 25-3009, a random selection of races to be audited for the 2024 primary election will take place at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Secretary of State’s office in Topeka.
“Post-election audits promote transparency and provide an additional verification of election results,” said Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab.
Following the random selection, all 105 Kansas counties will conduct a manual count of paper ballots from the selected races to ensure the vote totals match the tabulator counts. This public process allows citizens to observe and verify the accuracy of the election results.
