Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media following the 25th-ranked Tigers’ 66-20 win over App State on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.
Swinney provided an update on star defensive lineman Peter Woods, who sustained an injury in the first half. The sophomore went down after a chop block below the waist in the second quarter.
Woods was slow to get up off the field before limping off under his own power and going into the injury tent to be evaluated by the medical staff. He eventually came out of the medical tent, and then later came back onto the field after halftime with a brace on his left knee.
Swinney gave an update on Woods’ status after Saturday’s game.
“I think he’s OK, but we’ll see tomorrow when we do a more thorough check,” Swinney said. “It seems like most of the things that we were really concerned about was OK.”
Following an open date next Saturday, Sept. 14, Clemson will return to Death Valley for its ACC opener against NC State on Saturday, Sept. 21.
