Update: The Red Sox announced Kenley Jansen left the game with right hamstring tightness.

“Just tight,” manager Alex Cora said during his postgame press conference. “We’ll see where we’re at tomorrow, how he feels. Hopefully, he’s ready for Friday.”

HOUSTON — Kenley Jansen was removed with an injury after recording the first out of the ninth inning Wednesday with the score between the Red Sox and Astros tied 4-4.

Jansen looked uncomfortable walking off the field after meeting briefly with manager Alex Cora and the trainer on the mound.

The team has not yet announced his exact injury.

Jansen threw just three pitches. He got Jon Singleton to fly out to left field on a 2-0 cutter.

Nick Pivetta replaced Jansen who has a 2.81 ERA and 29 saves in 46 outings (41 ⅔ innings) this season for Boston.

Pivetta kept the game tied 4-4. He walked Jose Altuve but then struck out both Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker swinging. The game is currently in the 10th inning.
